Polly Kimmorley
Born in Dubbo, NSW, Polly Lyn Kimmorley moved as a young girl to their family property on the banks of the Darling River.
Here she received her first box of paints, which began a life long love affair with colour, paint and the environment.
As a young woman Polly won a scholarship to Mitchell School of Arts before marrying into a local grazing family and moving to a remote property with her husband and two daughters.
During this time, while flying in light aircraft Polly was stirred by the sprawling landscape with its magnificent colours and textures which now feature strongly in her work.
Polly’s large scale paintings are immersive, inspired by her environment and memories of Australia’s vast and vibrant landscape.
Polly and her husband now live in Forster on the beautiful mid north coast of NSW and while she paints the occasional seascape, her heart is still ruled by the colours and shapes of the outback.
We are proud to have two of Polly’s stunning pieces of work hanging in the hotel- “Aerial Shadows” and “Hop, Skip and a Jump to Orange”.
